PDF DOWNLOAD | 50-FAQs Checklist For New Patient Inquiries

Deciding on your next Physician, albeit, even a Concierge Doctor, isn't something that anyone should take lightly.

With so many reviews about you out there, historical links they can click on and directory web sites now helping Physicians promote their practice and their brand, the time required by a new patient to learn about you and form correct (or incorrect) assumptions about you and your practice is short.

Like you, I love a good checklist.

Over the years we've thought it might be helpful to put together some of the most common questions that you, our Physician readers (plus, Concierge Doctor contributions of course!) have told us that you are asked so you can educate, inform and better prepare your team on how to appropriately respond to a prospective Patient who wants to join your practice.

In the words of survival expert and author Creek Stewart, "It's not if, but when ..."

Feel free to use this 50-Question Checklist as a jumping-in point of sorts. It's not inclusive and we're always adding or editing it every so often. Think of it as an erasable checklist and feel free to use it to better engage and educate your team on what they might encounter soon.

"We definitely don't have all the answers, but what we want to do is start a conversation in your practice that can help you help the community of patients you serve, better," said Concierge Medicine Today's Editor. "I think you'll find these questions thorough enough and maybe even show some blindspots in your practice messaging where you might have knowledge or training gaps amongst your team about how exactly your practice and programs work. I know having sat on the other side of many Physicians over the years, both in hospitals, urgent care clinics, specialty practices and all the like that there's absolutely a difference between a good Doctor and a great Doctor in the eye of a Patient. Every Patient will walk into your practice with their guard up. They'll have preconceived ideas about what you do. It's you and your teams job to help educate new patients about your practice in a polite, patient and gentle way. Not every practice can do what you can so it's important to plan ahead and be prepared to handle tough questions."

Good luck and we hope this helps you and your practice and team!
